Cartoon/3D and still life images put together in moodboards help to create a feel for the design.
After having collected these images i came across the image below. Instead of creating detailed models of weeds and plants for the garden I could use the 2D idea of creating the illusion of plants being there.
Another option is to just use very simple shapes to represent the models.
Using the idea of having simple shapes for the plants or weeds, I started experimenting with models and this is what i came up with:
